Old Reserve Farm
A Pittsburgh farm with nature at its heart.

Welcome to Old Reserve Farm, established in 2022 on the land which had been farmed by four generations of Pavkovics (and other neighbors) throughout the past century before being passed on to me. Located in Reserve Township, north of the city less than one mile from Pittsburgh city limits. Picture this- fifteen acres of cleared ridgetop land nestled amidst a nearly unbroken tract of over 200 acres of forest and farmland. That’s a little glimpse of what it’s like up here, but to truly understand you’ll have to come and see it for yourself!
This year 2026 we are proud to offer a CSA membership (think a weekly subscription to the freshest seasonal veggies, from June through October). The farmstand is also returning for a second year, located in the heart of the farm just steps away from the gardens. Both are great ways to see the farm and learn more about our organic practices and visions for the future. While here you can walk around our new one-acre apple orchard (pick-your-own apples coming in a few years), explore the nature trails connecting to the nearby Allegheny Land Trust property, or simply sit on the rocker and listen to the birds.
The CSA Box (Community Supported Agriculture) is a way to experience the full seasonal swing of fresh veggies; from the earliest salad greens, to mid-summer corn, to the pumpkins and peppers of early fall. Every weekend from June through October, you will pick up your veggie box at the farm and receive a selection of roughly 6 items that are in season during that particular week. A CSA box can be a joy and an adventure, and an opportunity to connect more deeply with the agricultural rhythm of Southwestern Pennsylvania. By paying up-front, members enable their farmer to accurately predict the amount of vegetables they will need to grow for the season, preventing waste of food and time. Additionally, the up-front costs of a farming season (seeds, compost, supplies) can be paid for while awaiting the harvest. The list below represents the crops that are likely to be found in the CSA boxes over the course of the season.
20 weeks / $400
Arugula, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celeriac, celery, chard, corn, collard greens, eggplant, garlic, green beans, pumpkin, kale, lettuce, peppers, radish, onions, snap peas, spinach, turnips, winter squash, zucchini.
